Doggedly Devoted owner and managing operator Megan Coryat earned the Certified Professional Dog Trainer - Knowledge Assessed (CPDT-KA) credential. To become a CPDT-KA, trainers must have at least 300 hours of trainer experience, provide a recommendation from a veterinarian, and pass an independent, science-based exam to demonstrate knowledge in instruction skills, animal husbandry, ethology, learning theory, equipment, business practices, and ethics.
Megan applied for consideration in July 2014 and sat for the examination on September 18, 2014. The certification is valid for three years, and recertification is contingent upon earning 36 continuing education credit during that time.
Megan is already on her way to accumulating her CEUs, having just spent three days last week in Hartford, CT at the Association for Professional Dog Trainers Annual Conference and Trade Show!
