We have had so many people–clients and former clients, fellow dog professionals, vendors, and friends–reaching out to see if we are OK and if our employees are OK. We are grateful for the warmth and humanity we have encountered even as we are physically cut off from people during the NY PAUSE. Doggedly Devoted and its employees are doing all right. We miss you! But we are OK. We have ceased dog walking and home visits for the duration of the shutdown in NYC, and we will resume when the ban on non-essential business is lifted....

Basic Obedience Course Doggedly Devoted owner and certified dog trainer Megan Coryat will be teaching a 5-week Beginner Level Obedience class for dogs and their humans at Harlem Doggie Day Spa. The course will run for five consecutive Wednesday evenings at 7:30 pm, January 16 through February 13 at the Harlem Doggie Day Spa play space annex at 761 St. Nicholas Avenue. The cost for the course is $300. Registration is now open....

Some preliminary thoughts on the experience of caring for my elder dog… One day in the spring of 2006, when I had first adopted Lexie, and we were proudly trotting through our Brooklyn neighborhood, working on loose leash walking and looking for the right place to poop (Lexie, not me!), I was struck hard by the though that I only had about 10 to 14 years to spend with this delightful creature....

Loose-leash walking is one of our most-requested training topics. Get ready for spring walks with a 90-minute workshop on loose leash walking and safety on the city sidewalks on Saturday, February 18 from 2 to 3:30 pm.
