January Daycare Dog of the Month: Cole

Cole, a fluffy brown and white Springer Spaniel, spent his early years in the disciplined life of a show dog. Retired at the ripe old age of five years, Cole is now learning how to play. Walking down the street and even at the dog park, Cole is “aloof with other dogs,” according to his new owner, Patrick McGee. Cole enjoys trips to the Marcus Garvey Dog Run, but he spends most of his time there sniffing and chewing sticks....

MMPCIA Gala and Auction

A Doggedly Devoted mini-training package is just one of many exciting items you can bid on for the Mount Morris Park Community Improvement Association fundraising auction. There is also the 5th annual MMPCIA gala on Thursday night, and rumor has it that one Doggedly Devoted owner will be there dressed to the nines! The Annual Holiday Gala & Fundraiser is one of MMPCIA’s important fundraising efforts. Proceeds support the Scholarship Award given in June to a Harlem high school senior on her/his way to college; provide toys for the holidays to children in need; and help support the organization’s other community efforts set forth in its annual goals....

Daycare Dog of the Month: Edgar

When his humans got married this fall, Edgar served as the ring bearer. He wore a blue leather harness and a plaid bowtie on a fake collar that looked like a man’s dress shirt. Edgar’s owners, Brian Jacobson and Branko Jovanovic, also have a Lhasa Apso, Audrey, who was the flower girl. She wore crocheted flowers attached to a pink Coach collar. A cellist performed at the wedding, and when she started the music, Edgar sang along....

The ASPCA’s mission is to put an end to the tragic euthanasia of adoptable animals within the five boroughs of New York City by addressing the animal crisis at its source—in the heart of the city’s local communities. The ASPCA strives to make spay/neuter affordable for all residents in NYC’s five boroughs. Low-income pet parents in New York City’s five boroughs with proof of public assistance such as welfare, Medicaid, Medicare, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), disability, food stamps, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) or public housing qualify for heavily discounted spay/neuter services for their cat or dog....

Wag and Wine Holiday Edition: 12/21/12

Doggedly Devoted’s monthly Wag and Wine will be a special holiday celebration for dogs and their humans on Friday, December 21 from 7 to 8:30 PM.
