Doggedly Devoted is expanding, and we will be conducting interviews in January for playroom supervisors. In 2005 Albertha Wright’s three sons gave her a Mother’s Day gift that changed her life: a Shih Tzu named Maggie. Derrell Wright, one of Albertha’s sons says, “My brother who lives in North Carolina found a breeder in Georgia, and we knew she was the perfect puppy. We had been looking for a while up here, but until then we hadn’t found the right one.” In the nine years since then, Maggie has had a profound impact on the whole family....

We have launched a campaign on smallknot.com to help us raise a portion of the cost of renovating our basement to make it a fabulous, safe play space for dogs. Scout and owner Evan McKittrick have been taking care of one another while Scout’s other owner, Caitlin Feurey, has been in Tabora, Tanzania for the last five months. She is there as part of Columbia University’s masters program in Public Health, and Scout can’t wait to welcome her home next month. When they lived in Seattle, Caitlin and Evan found Scout at a huge adoption event that was attended by 5 different animal rescue groups and hundreds of potential adopters....

It is with great sadness that we share the news that Aangus passed away on Friday, October 25. Aangus was a playful, energetic member of the Doggedly Devoted community. He loved his fellow daycare dogs, and all the staff members, and he expressed that with wild wiggles of his little tail every day that he was here. He was a very loving soul and exceptional at posing for photos. Aangus was joyous and energetic up to the last weeks of his life....
